Oliver's Hotel - Clyde, New Zealand

Our luxury boutique hotel is set on an authentic 19th-century homestead in the historic area of Clyde. It was originally built in 1869 as a general store to serve the prospectors seeking their fortunes during the Otago Gold Rush. With passion and deep sensitivity to this rich heritage, the owners Andrea and David Ritchie have meticulously restored the stone and timber structures – including the original general store building along with the coach sheds, stables and barn. Each of the 11 guestrooms is unique, but they all offer modern comfort integrally linked with the property’s history. The five Stable Guestrooms evoke the rustic ambiance of the 1860’s with schist walls, stone floors and rough-hewn timber beams. In contrast, the six Lodge Guestrooms feature elegant contemporary interiors with period-inspired wall coverings and furnishings. All rooms have private en suite baths with fine amenities.
