Journey into the Colchagua Valley and tour the Viña MontGras winery. We’ve made special arrangements for you to work with a master vintner to craft your own wine from start to finish – blending three vintages, bottling, and labeling your wine. After lunch in Santa Cruz, explore the pre-Columbian collection of the Colchagua Museum. meals b+l

From Santiago to the Lake District

Fly to Puerto Montt and continue to Hotel Cumbres Patagónica, set on the lakefront in Puerto Varas. After time to refresh, journey along the scenic shores of Llanquihue Lake to explore Frutillar, a picturesque village founded by German settlers. Delve into the region’s history at the local museum and sample delightful European-style pastries. meals b+d

Across the Andes from Chile to Argentina

An entire unforgettable day is spent on a dramatic mountain crossing through a profusion of azure lakes situated at the base of snow-capped volcanoes. Travel to your first boat to cross Lago Todos Los Santos, edged by ancient stands of temperate rainforests along the slopes of the Puntiagudo and Tronador Volcanoes. Continue to Peulla Island for lunch at an evocative 1920’s hotel before crossing Lake Frias to Puerto Alegre in Argentina. Switch boats and sail to Puerto Pañuelo where you’ll have your first glimpse of your hotel, the splendid Llao Llao Resort on Lake Nahuel Huapi. Your day begins in Argentina’s oldest national park, dominated by the Tronador Volcano. Nearby, the forested  eninsulas and bays of Lake Nahuel Huapi rank among the loveliest spots on Earth. Sightseeing here in Rio begins this morning at the impressive Sambodromo where Brazil’s legendary Samba schools compete during Carnival. You’ll also visit the Metropolitan Cathedral, an impressive contemporary landmark with stained glass windows that soar more than 200 feet from floor to ceiling. A thrilling 2-stage cable car takes you up Sugarloaf Mountain for amazing views over the city and its dramatic backdrop of sea, mountain and sky. You’ll also ascend Mt.
