Welcome to Windhoek

Settle in to your spacious verandah room at the Olive Grove House, a stylish upscale guesthouse situated in a peaceful neighborhood close to the city center.

Into the Namib Desert

A scenic light aircraft transfer brings you into the Kulala Wilderness Reserve. Upon arrival, you’ll be warmly greeted and escorted to the stunning Kulala Desert Lodge, one of the finest in Africa. Your stylish thatch and canvas bungalow features a private bath and verandah. Relax and enjoy the views from your terrace or head over to the main lodge where a wrap-around deck overlooks a watering hole that regularly attracts local wildlife like gemsbok, springbok, ostrich and jackal. As the sun dips toward the horizon, join fellow lodge guests for sunset cocktails surrounded by the magnificent desert landscapes. Return to the lodge for dinner and a tranquil overnight. The Dunes of Sossusvlei

Head out from your lodge this morning to explore the spectacular dunes of Sossusvlei, entering through a private gate on the Tsauchab River. These world-famous towering red sand dunes have formed over millions of years, their contours continuously shaped by the desert winds to stand out in dramatic contrast to the blue Namibian sky. Fly to Damaraland

This morning’s light aircraft flight takes you over Namibia’s infamous Skeleton Coast into the other-worldly landscapes of Damaraland. Upon arrival at the local airstrip, you’ll be warmly greeted and escorted to the Damaraland Camp, where your thatched adobe bungalow is handsomely appointed with an en suite shower and large private deck. Join our experienced tracker guides for an afternoon game drive and then return to camp for dinner. This evening’s specially-arranged Scorpion Walk brings you back into the desert with our naturalist guides, this time with florescent lights to explore the fascinating nocturnal landscape. Explore Damaraland

The Damaraland Camp is situated in the Huab River Valley amidst desert plains, ancient valleys and the soaring peaks of the nearby Brandberg Mountains. This morning’s game drive takes you into these mesmerizing landscapes to observe desert-adapted species including elephant, springbok, gemsbok and kudu. With luck, you might even encounter lion, cheetah and the rare black rhino. You will also visit the ancient rock art site at Twyfelfonteinc, a UNESCO World Heritage Site where thousands of animal figures were etched into the rock face by the late Stone Age hunter-gatherers who lived here millennia ago.

In the afternoon, join local residents and learn about the Torra Conservancy, an excellent example of sustainable tourism. This specially-arranged cultural visit with members of the local community provides unique insight into how tourism is being developed in Namibia to benefit both the environment and the indigenous peoples. Fly to Etosha National Park

Travel by light aircraft to Etosha where you’ll be met and escorted to the Ongava Tented Camp. Constructed of stone, canvas and thatch, your spacious tent features a private verandah and en suite bath with open-air shower. The Camp is located in the highly regarded Ongava Game Reserve, which shares an unfenced boundary with Etosha National Park, Namibia’s premier wildlife destination and one of the largest game reserves on the Continent. Relax on your private deck or join fellow travelers in the main area where a bar and swimming pool overlook a waterhole that often attracts the local wildlife. Meals B,L,D

Explore Etosha National Park

Over the next two days, you’ll enjoy morning and afternoon game drives, thrilling night safaris and nature walks. The wildlife viewing here is spectacular, with frequent sightings of lion, elephant and springbok. The Ongava Reserve and adjacent National Park are lauded for having the highest concentration of rhinos in Namibia and offer your best chance to observe both black and white rhinos. Meals B,L,D

Return flight to Windhoek

After breakfast, you’ll be escorted to the airstrip for your light aircraft flight back to Windhoek. Meals B
